He highlighted the dangers of flushing medications, which can contaminate water systems, while noting that some opioids are safe to flush according to the FDA’s “Flush List.” The DEA supports this initiative to prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction, collecting nearly 630,000 pounds of medications during the last take back event, with year-round disposal options available.
