Embattled regional airline Rex received up to $80 million from the federal government to keep its regional routes operational after its fleet of Boeing 737s was grounded, leading to administration by EY Australia. Transport Minister Catherine King and Workplace Minister Murray Watt announced the funding to support critical services for regional communities, while Rex’s administrators plan to extend voluntary administration to 30 June 2025 with the government guaranteeing ticket sales made during this period.
