Australia criticises China’s helicopter manoeuvre near ADF aircraft

Australia has condemned the Chinese military for an “unsafe and unprofessional” helicopter encounter in international waters between China and the Korean Peninsula. The Australian Defence Department reported that a People’s Liberation Army-Navy helicopter forced an Australian helicopter to take evasive action while conducting routine operations. Although no injuries or damage occurred, Australia emphasized the importance of military safety and adherence to international law, recalling previous incidents of close encounters with Chinese military aircraft.
