A 65-year-old retired NYPD lieutenant was attacked by a group of at least five teenagers in a “gang assault” in New York City’s Upper East Side after he confronted them for harassing a cab driver. The assailants punched him in the face and struck him with a backpack, causing minor injuries, though he declined medical assistance. The suspects, described as light-skinned males, remain at large, and police have released their descriptions, seeking public assistance in locating them.
