Republicans Try To Cram Decade-Long AI Regulation Ban Into Budget Reconciliation Bill

An anonymous reader quotes a report from 404 Media stating that House Republicans have introduced new language in the Budget Reconciliation bill that will cut Medicaid access for millions and increase medical fees. Additionally, the bill includes provisions that would prevent states from regulating artificial intelligence for ten years, effectively hindering any existing or proposed state laws aimed at protecting citizens from AI systems. This language, introduced by Congressman Brett Guthrie, is set to be reviewed by the House during the budget reconciliation markup on May 13.
