Republican Matt Van Epps Wins Tennessee Special Election
Republican Matt Van Epps has won a special election for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, overcoming a strong challenge from Democrat Aftyn Behn. Despite President Trump’s declining popularity and significant Democratic campaign efforts, Van Epps maintained a 7.5-point lead by mobilizing Republican voters on Election Day. The race, marked by heavy spending from both parties, indicates a narrowing GOP margin in traditionally red territory, prompting Democrats to view Behn’s performance as a positive sign for the upcoming midterms.
