Renewed push to make cycling helmets mandatory in Hong Kong as number of deaths doubles

Hong Kong police, under Commissioner Raymond Siu Chak-yee, will collaborate with transport authorities to enforce mandatory helmet-wearing for cyclists due to a doubled number of cyclist fatalities in the first eight months of this year. Despite a 7% decrease in cycling accidents to 1,105, fatalities have increased from four to eight, prompting the need for stricter safety measures to protect cyclists on the road.
