Gaddafi Relative Granted New Opportunity to Remain in Canada
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Seraj Essaadi El Ferjani Ahmed, a relative of former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, is appealing his denied refugee status in Canada, claiming closer ties to the Gaddafi regime than previously acknowledged. Ahmed, who arrived in Canada in 2017 to study aviation, is the nephew of Mansour Daou, Gaddafi’s top security official, who was with Gaddafi during his fall in 2011. Evidence presented indicates Daou’s significant role in the regime, countering claims that Ahmed would be safe returning to Libya. Ahmed, born in 1995, fled Libya in 2011 amid civil unrest and later sought refugee protection in Canada, citing fears for his safety due to his uncle’s connections.
