Reddit has begun testing verified profiles, granting a gray checkmark to selected public figures and trusted partners who opt-in and contribute actively on the platform. This limited alpha test aims to enhance clarity without conferring special privileges, as users cannot currently request verification. Existing “Official” labels for businesses will transition to the new checkmark. Reddit maintains that this verification process is voluntary and supports its core principle of pseudonymity.
