Red dye No. 3 has been banned, but what about other food dyes?

Synthetic dyes like Red 3, Blue 1, and Yellow 5 are used to enhance food appearance, but concerns over health effects, including behavioral problems in children, have led to calls for their removal. Momentum is growing for natural color alternatives, such as beet juice and carmine, as more states consider banning synthetic dyes, and public pressure mounts for healthier food options.
