Members of the public intervened after a taxi driver was assaulted by a male and female in Dunedin on Christmas Day at around 10:50 PM. The incident occurred near the port in Port Chalmers, prompting immediate assistance from bystanders who helped care for the victim and provided police with information about the suspects’ whereabouts. Senior Sergeant Mark Crawford praised the community’s quick response to the situation. Police are investigating the assault further.
