Following the outbreak of war in April 2023, Sudan’s capital Khartoum has been devastated, with over 61,000 fatalities reported and many more injured or missing due to the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces. The city, once vibrant, is now marked by destruction, with looted homes and charred buildings, leaving millions displaced. Amidst the ruins, personal stories emerge, like that of Yousra Elbagir, who returns to find her family home in shambles, reflective of the broader tragedy that has engulfed the region.
