Rain and protest dampen Macy’s annual Thanksgiving Day parade in New York

The 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City was disrupted by pro-Palestinian protesters, who briefly blocked a giant balloon representing Ronald McDonald and called for an arms embargo on Israel. Police arrested 21 protesters, but the parade continued with popular cartoon characters and Broadway stars. The event featured 22 big balloons, 34 floats, and attracted a record 28.5 million viewers on live television.
