Quebec committee stops short of proposing presumed consent for organ donation

The National Assembly committee has decided not to recommend presumed consent for organ donation but will further examine the possibility, as experts are divided on the issue. Many argue that presumed consent alone is insufficient to increase organ donation rates in Quebec and that additional measures and social acceptance are needed for guaranteed success in the process.
