Wellington and Palmerston North District Courts evacuated over bomb threats

Two lower North Island district courts, Wellington and Palmerston North, were evacuated due to alleged bomb threats, with police clearing the buildings this afternoon and allowing people back inside. Police have not confirmed whether the two incidents were linked. The Wellington District Court was emptied around 10.45am, followed by the evacuation of the Palmerston North District Court about an hour later in response to an unspecified “incident.”
