During a meeting with Slovak PM Robert Fico, President Putin expressed that Russia and the U.S. have a “mutual understanding” regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, while emphasizing the necessity for Russia’s involvement in any security guarantees for Ukraine. Despite pressures from the U.S. and other European leaders, Putin remains firm on Russia’s territorial claims and dismisses claims of ulterior motives as “horror stories” from “incompetent people.”
