Whanganui tornado damages caravan, injures one at Dudding Lake

A tornado struck the Dudding Lake campground near Whanganui, causing significant damage and injuring one person. Fire and Emergency New Zealand confirmed the tornado overturned a caravan, while Rangitīkei Mayor Andy Watson described the scene as one of “devastation,” with fallen trees obstructing access. An ambulance responded to the incident shortly after it was reported. The injured individual was trapped inside the caravan when it was thrown over a car.
