The B.C. Supreme Court dismissed a proposed class-action lawsuit over an overdose prevention site in downtown Vancouver, ruling that it did not meet the criteria for certification. The lawsuit, filed by plaintiffs Michael Wilson and 111 Seymour Residences, alleged public disorder and crime caused by the facility’s users. However, Justice Anita Chan determined that the plaintiffs failed to identify an “identifiable class” entitled to relief in a class-action suit.
