Incident Involving Priest and NHS Workers
Sheila Sherwood, a 56-year-old priest ordained by the Old Catholic Church, assaulted NHS staff during her discharge from Warrington Hospital on November 7. She kicked senior nurse David Gallagher in the groin and bit security guard Sean Brien while resisting efforts to remove her cannula. Despite her denial of the assault, she was convicted and fined £420. Sherwood claimed she could not bite due to having no teeth, calling the conviction a falsehood.
