Polish Church Decides to Canonize Katyn Martyrs

The Holy Synod of the Polish Orthodox Church decided to canonize the Katyn Martyrs on March 18, naming several individuals as saints to be included in the diptych of saints of the church. The official canonization is set for September 17, 2025, the same day the Soviet army entered Poland in 1939. The decision also addressed other issues, such as theological dialogue with other churches and expressing concern about religious education in schools.
