In Indian-administered Kashmir, police raided bookstores and confiscated 668 books associated with a banned Islamic organisation, sparking criticism from local leaders and bookshop owners. The seized literature, linked to Jamaat-e-Islami, was mainly published by Markazi Maktaba Islami Publishers and authored by Abul Ala Maududi, advocating the integration of state and religion.
