Police applying to NSW Supreme Court to try and ban pair of pro-Palestinian rallies

NSW Police will seek a ban from the state’s Supreme Court for two pro-Palestinian rallies planned over the Labour Day weekend in Sydney. The police have been in negotiations with protest organizers as part of Operation Shelter, set up after previous rallies in October 2023, to coordinate responses to protest activity. The protests are scheduled for Sunday and Monday, and the police are taking steps to prevent them from taking place.
