Father reports hearing baby gasping for air before death during inquest

An inquest into the death of 10-month-old Poseidyn Reigns Hemopo-Pickering examined the 16 minutes a father, Anthony Simon Pickering, was alone with his son in their bedroom before Poseidyn was found gasping for air. The infant was later taken to Middlemore Hospital and then transferred to Starship Children’s Hospital with a significant skull fracture and traumatic brain injury, where he was pronounced dead the following day.
