Auckland business owner Ashik Ali admits unroadworthy truck killed worker in Remuera

A construction truck, known to be unroadworthy due to defective brakes, struck and killed road worker Johnathon Walters in Auckland, despite repeated warnings to its owner, Ashik Ali. Ali, 55, has pleaded guilty to manslaughter ahead of his scheduled trial in May 2024.
