PM On Maha Kumbh Stampede

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences and wished for the speedy recovery of around 30 women injured in a stampede at the Maha Kumbh fair grounds in New Delhi. He assured full support from the Centre to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, as the stampede occurred just a kilometre away from the Triveni Sangam ghat during Mauni Amavasya, a significant ritual of the Maha Kumbh. The incident took place on the auspicious occasion when 10 crore pilgrims were expected to take a holy dip, prompting Akharas to cancel processions and defer the dip.
