The government has received 6.2 lakh applications for 1.3 lakh opportunities under the PM Internship Scheme, with the pilot project targeting the top 500 companies by CSR spend and aiming to train one crore students over five years. The ministry of corporate affairs has allocated Rs 840 crore for the scheme, which has seen an enthusiastic response from the corporate sector. Junior minister Harsh Malhotra stated that there is a monitoring framework in place to track outcomes and ensure corrective actions.
