Plane carrying Secretary of State Rubio to Europe turned around because of a mechanical issue

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Sen. Jim Risch were on an Air Force plane heading to the Munich Security Conference when a mechanical issue forced the aircraft to return to Washington. The issue, related to the cockpit windshield, occurred 90 minutes after takeoff from Joint Base Andrews. Rubio plans to continue his travel to Germany and the Middle East on a new plane, but it is uncertain if the delay will impact his scheduled meeting with Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Munich.
