He has propelled Pitt to a five-game winning streak, accumulating over 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns, while the team ranks No. 24 in the College Football Playoff standings. Heintschel is the first true freshman since Jameis Winston to achieve three games with over 300 passing yards and three touchdown passes in his first six starts. Finalists for the award will be announced on December 3, with the winner revealed on December 30.
