FBI Arrests Suspect in 2021 D.C. Pipe Bomb Case

Federal authorities arrested a suspect in the long-unsolved case of two pipe bombs planted outside the Democratic and Republican National Committee headquarters on January 5, 2021, the eve of the Capitol riot. The devices, made from pipes and homemade materials, did not detonate but were deemed viable and potentially deadly. After extensive investigations, including releasing security footage and offering a reward, the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in a case that had frustrated the FBI for nearly five years. The bombs were discovered on January 6, as rioters overwhelmed police responding to the Capitol attack.
