Former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, known for his economic reform program and nuclear deal with the US, was cremated following a state funeral as politicians and the public mourned his death at the age of 92. His body was honored at the Congress party headquarters in New Delhi before being taken to a crematorium ground for his last rites, with government officials, politicians, and family members paying their respects. President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and cabinet ministers attended the funeral, which included a ceremonial gun salute and religious hymns during the cremation, with a seven-day mourning period declared and cultural events cancelled across India.
