Haley Jones has signed a hardship contract with the Phoenix Mercury while Alyssa Thomas is injured. Originally drafted sixth overall by the Atlanta Dream in 2023, Jones averaged 3.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists last season before being waived. The Mercury, currently 5-2 despite injuries, saw Jones debut with 2 points and an assist in a victory over the Los Angeles Sparks, benefiting from strong performances by undrafted rookies like Monique Akoa Makani and Kathryn Westbeld.
