Person detained as fire burns through low-income apartment in Los Angeles

One person was detained during a fire at a low-income apartment in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, at the Healthy Housing Foundation’s Valley Haven location on Sepulveda Boulevard. The blaze, reported at 1 a.m., was contained to a third-floor unit, with firefighters preventing further spread to other units. Video footage captured flames coming through the window of the affected apartment.
