Perryman resigns from Hobart council seat after shoplifting charge

Hobart Fifth Ward Councilman William Perryman resigned from his seat after being charged with theft for stealing food from a Valparaiso Walmart. Mayor Josh Huddlestun supported Perryman’s decision to focus on himself and his family, acknowledging the difficult time he is going through. A caucus will be held to fill Perryman’s seat within 30 days of his resignation.
