James Rizzo, a 45-year-old Level 2 sex offender, was arrested for allegedly attacking NYU student Amelia Lewis and is also accused of a separate assault on a 68-year-old woman, Jana Dianne Brazell, in Manhattan. Security footage shows Rizzo unprovokedly assaulting Lewis, while Brazell required stitches after being struck from behind. Following these incidents, Rizzo was found burglarizing an off-campus housing complex, with stolen items valued at $3,150. He has a criminal history with 16 prior arrests and was ordered held without bail, pending a psychological evaluation.
