Pentagon Identifies Anthropic Supply Chain Risk Amid AI Military Dispute

Anthropic has responded to U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s directive for the Pentagon to classify the AI company as a “supply chain risk.” The decision comes after prolonged negotiations that stalled over two exceptions the company requested regarding the use of its AI model, Claude: restrictions on mass domestic surveillance of Americans and the development of fully autonomous weapons.
