Unstoppable Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar won the men’s road race title at the world championships in Zurich with a stunning solo attack, finishing 34 seconds ahead of his closest competitor after taking off with 100km left in the 273-km race. Pogacar, who already holds the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France titles this year, became only the third man ever to achieve the cycling hat-trick in a single season, adding the rainbow jersey to his collection. The 26-year-old was able to comfortably cruise the final 500 meters to the finish line, capping off an impressive season of victories.
