Paramilitary group attacks an open market in Sudan, killing 54 people

In the Sudanese city of Omdurman, a paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces attacked an open market, killing 54 people and injuring 158 others, according to health authorities. The conflict in Sudan, which began in April 2023, has resulted in numerous deadly attacks, including the recent targeting of a hospital in El Fasher. The RSF has been accused of committing genocide in the war, and the International Criminal Court is investigating alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
