Paramilitaries attack Port Sudan for first time: army

On Sunday, Sudanese paramilitaries, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), launched their first attack on Port Sudan, targeting military and civilian sites with suicide drones, according to the army. The RSF, engaged in conflict with the regular army since April 2023, has increasingly utilized drones after losing territory, including Khartoum, with the recent assault lasting three and a half hours and involving 11 drones. While the army reported no casualties and limited damage, the attacks signify a shift in RSF tactics as they aim to create panic and disrupt supply lines in army-held areas.
