Voting in seven out of eleven constituencies in Poonch division, Pakistan-administered Kashmir, has been postponed due to violence and calls for a boycott amid ongoing unrest. The elections for the remaining four constituencies proceeded with approximately 460,000 registered voters. The Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, which has been protesting the reservation of legislative seats for displaced Kashmiris, has been linked to violent clashes resulting in over 50 deaths. Authorities have also restricted international media access to the region.
