West Auckland jewellery robbery: Solomon avoids prison, seeks to leave gang
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Convicted robber Shontayne Solomon was caught on CCTV involved in a violent robbery at a West Auckland clothing and jewellery store, after previously committing a significant heist at an Auckland cellphone store. He aided the robbers by waiting in his car and later offering to sell stolen jewellery. Despite his criminal history, a judge granted him leniency, noting Solomon’s desire to focus on family over gang life. Judge Terence Singh acknowledged that Solomon’s potential for change could lead him away from crime.
