Over 260 people arrested over Christmas period for driving under the influence of drugs or drink

Chief Superintendent Jane Humphries of the Garda National Road Traffic Bureau reported that over 260 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the Christmas period. Additionally, eight fatalities and 20 serious injuries occurred in traffic collisions between December 20 and 29 on Irish roads.
