Research from the University of Edinburgh reveals that over 150,000 more people in England are living with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) than previously estimated, highlighting a “postcode lottery” in diagnosis. The study, published in BMC Public Health, analyzed NHS data from over 62 million individuals to identify those diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME)/CFS or post-viral fatigue syndrome. This finding underscores the significant discrepancies in access to diagnosis and care for affected individuals across different regions.
