Orsi, Nvidia unveil world’s first 9,000 km AI surgery

Ghent’s Orsi Academy collaborated with Nvidia to develop an AI tool for surgical training that analyzes real-time images and aids surgeons, revolutionizing surgery worldwide. This groundbreaking technology allows trainees to interact with an AI-powered chatbot during live operations, offering tailored explanations and insights without disrupting the operating room. In a Belgian first, a remote surgery from Ghent to Shanghai was successfully conducted, showcasing the potential of this AI system for robotic surgery, diagnostics, and remote education.
