OpenAI Releases New Models o3 and o4-mini
On Wednesday, OpenAI unveiled two new models, o3 and o4-mini, which integrate simulated reasoning capabilities with tools like web browsing and coding, allowing the use of all ChatGPT tools, including visual analysis and image generation. These models replace the earlier versions o1 and o3-mini, with access rolling out to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team users today, while Enterprise and Edu customers will gain access next week, and free users can try o4-mini by selecting the “Think” option. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman indicated that o3-pro is expected to be released to the pro tier in a few weeks.
