All but one Senate Republican voted to confirm Harmeet Dhillon as assistant attorney general, with Sen. Lisa Murkowski joining Democrats in voting against. Dhillon was chosen by President Trump in December, praised for her civil rights work and as a defender of constitutional rights and election laws. Trump recently criticized Murkowski, Collins, Paul, and McConnell for having “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” but the four senators still voted to scuttle his tariff policy on Canadian products.
