One dead in train-car collision at level crossing

A person has died following a collision between a car and a train at Dimmocks Cote level crossing in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Emergency services arrived around 10:15 am, where the victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and another individual sustained minor injuries. Rail services between Cambridge and Ely are currently suspended, causing major disruptions expected to last until at least 4 pm, while the A1123 Newmarket Road is closed in both directions. Authorities are seeking witnesses to aid in the investigation.
