Ole Miss cruises, becomes 7th SEC Sweet 16 team

Ole Miss guard Matthew Murrell led his team to a 91-78 victory over Iowa State, advancing to their first Sweet 16 since 2001 and making history as the seventh SEC team to reach the Sweet 16 in the NCAA men’s tournament. Despite being the lowest-seeded SEC team, Ole Miss dominated the game, showcasing the strength of the conference and setting a record with 14 teams making the tournament. Coach Chris Beard instilled confidence in his team, drawing inspiration from past underdog champions and believing in their potential to continue winning in the tournament.
