Greg Wyshynski, ESPN’s senior NHL writer, reported that Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid will be sidelined for two to three weeks due to an ankle injury sustained during a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. McDavid, considered the best player in the world, had a standout season last year, leading the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Final. With McDavid out, Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch sees it as an opportunity for other players on the roster to step up and contribute more to the team.
