Police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a 10-week-old baby boy in Auckland. The infant was taken to Pukekohe Maternity Hospital in critical condition on January 2, where staff notified authorities. Subsequently, he was transferred to Starship children’s hospital, where he was found to have “non-survivable” injuries and later died. A 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man have been charged with ill treatment/neglect of a child.
