Apology issued for Pinjarra massacre 191 years later

WA Governor Chris Dawson will deliver a historic apology on Tuesday for the Pinjarra massacre, which occurred in 1834 under his predecessor James Stirling, resulting in the deaths of 15 to 80 Bindjareb Noongar people. This gesture, aimed at promoting reconciliation, includes the planting of commemorative trees and the issuance of a medallion with the words “truth, healing, and growth.”
